Mooladhara chakra

The lowest chakra in the body. Mooladhara means means root and adhara means place. Symbolised by a deep red lotus with four petals, in its centre a yellow square symbolising the earth and in the square a red triangle with the apex facing down.

Using this imagery for meditation as a way into the Mooladhara chakra enhances inner stability and balance.

Said to be the source of all our energy especially in Kudalini Yoga where one of the aims is to awaken the energy in this area and allow it to rise through the other chakras to unite with pure consciousness. Associated with purification, elimination, sexual, emotional and spiritual energy.
