Moving into balance at the sit and dance class

Today, I had the privilege of working with some lovely ladies who run balance classes at Torrington Hospital who let me give their groups a taste of a seated dance. There is something quite special about dancing with our older generation and it’s so clear that they benefit hugely from moving to music.

Dance does the whole thing, strengthening and freeing up the body, bringing colour to our cheeks, music to our ears, fresh air to our lungs, laughter to our voices and the confidence to keep on moving for longer.

One of the participants told us that being able to dance like this and balance better after a fall has boosted her all round confidence and helped her to speak out when she needs to.
